Lucas Digne is set to return to Paris Saint-Germain this week, 10 years after leaving the French club.
The Aston Villa left-back is undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed move to the Ligue 1 champions, according to reports from French football journalist Marc Mechenoua.
PSG have reportedly activated a €6m release clause in Digne’s contract at Villa, with the fee previously believed to have been set at €10m.
The France international is expected to become PSG’s second signing of the summer and will return to the club where he began his senior career.
Digne, who made a costly mistake in France’s World Cup semi-final defeat by Spain last week, has otherwise enjoyed a solid spell with Aston Villa and remains an experienced member of the national team.
His arrival is understood to have been sanctioned by PSG head coach Luis Enrique, who sees the 32-year-old as experienced cover and competition for first-choice left-back Nuno Mendes.
Talks over the move are believed to have been underway for some time, with initial discussions reportedly taking place just days after the Champions League final.
Digne is expected to sign a three-year contract with PSG as the club continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
