Barcelona are reportedly prepared to consider offers for Jules Kounde this summer as the club continue their efforts to improve their financial position ahead of the new season.
According to reports in Spain, the Catalan giants would be willing to listen to bids in the region of €65 million if a suitable offer arrives, despite the France international remaining an important part of Hansi Flick’s plans.
The potential sale is understood to be linked to Barcelona’s ongoing attempts to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations, with the club still aiming to achieve the league’s 1:1 spending rule to give themselves greater flexibility in the transfer market.
Although departures, including Ansu Fati’s exit, have eased the wage bill, Barcelona are believed to feel that another significant sale may still be necessary to strengthen the squad this summer.
Premier League clubs keeping tabs
Kounde’s impressive performances for France have only enhanced his reputation, and Barcelona reportedly believe the 26-year-old could attract strong interest from Premier League clubs willing to invest in defensive reinforcements.
Reports suggest Barcelona would be open to opening negotiations from €65 million, with Chelsea continuing to monitor the defender after previously missing out on his signature. Liverpool are also said to be keeping a close watch on the situation.
However, any move may ultimately depend on the player himself.
Kounde only recently committed his long-term future to Barcelona by signing a new contract until 2030, improving his terms and underlining his desire to remain at the club.
The defender is understood to be happy in Catalonia and has given no indication that he wants to leave, although Barcelona’s stance could change if the right offer is received and the player becomes open to a transfer.

Barcelona remain focused on generating enough financial flexibility to operate freely in the transfer market while meeting La Liga’s registration requirements.

While Alejandro Balde and Ronald Araújo have both been considered as players capable of commanding sizeable transfer fees, neither is thought to be interested in leaving.
As things stand, Kounde has emerged as the most realistic high-value asset Barcelona could cash in on should they decide another major sale is required before the transfer window closes.
