Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, with the Germany international expected to arrive in Catalonia as the club edges towards completing another major summer transfer.
Having already secured the signing of Anthony Gordon before the opening of the 2026 summer transfer window, Hansi Flick’s side are now on the verge of adding further firepower ahead of the new campaign.
An agreement with both Adeyemi and Borussia Dortmund has already been reached, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta has publicly confirmed the deal is in place. The move, however, is still awaiting its final formalities before it can be officially announced.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Adeyemi is due to arrive in Barcelona on Wednesday, with his flight expected to land at around 4pm local time. The 24-year-old is then scheduled to undergo his medical on Thursday, one of the final steps before the transfer is completed.
Provided there are no issues during the medical examination, Barcelona will move quickly to finalise the remaining paperwork, allowing Adeyemi to sign his contract and be unveiled as the club’s latest summer recruit as early as Thursday.
The timing of his medical means Adeyemi is unlikely to take part in Thursday’s training session under Hansi Flick. Instead, his first opportunity to train with his new teammates is expected to come on Friday, when Barcelona have planned a double training session.
Barcelona have yet to confirm a date for Adeyemi’s official presentation, with the ceremony expected to depend on the availability of club president Joan Laporta, who is currently in the United States.
The Catalan giants are now hopeful the final stages of the transfer will be completed without delay, paving the way for Adeyemi to officially become a Barcelona player before the end of the week.
