Bayern Munich have strengthened their academy setup with the signing of highly-rated Czech youth international Matouš Srb.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder arrives at the FC Bayern Campus from Slavia Prague, penning a long-term deal with the German giants.
Srb spent last season getting valuable experience across multiple levels at the Czech capital club, featuring for their reserve side, the U20s and the U19s.
Bayern’s head of sport and youth development, Michael Wiesinger, was delighted to get the deal over the line, saying: “We are delighted to have signed MatouÅ¡ for FC Bayern. He is an interesting attacking talent, technically skilled and a strong player, who has already gained experience in men’s football with Slavia Prague’s second team.
“The teenager’s numbers make for impressive reading. Srb netted six goals in 12 outings for Slavia’s U19s last term, while at international level he racked up seven goals and 11 assists in 18 appearances for the Czechia U17s.
Bayern will be hoping the latest addition to their production line can follow the well-trodden path from the Campus to the first team in the years ahead.
