Real Madrid have reportedly identified RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande as an alternative to Michael Olise, with the Spanish giants understood to be willing to spend up to €100m on the highly-rated teenager.
Olise is believed to be a player who could fit perfectly into Real Madrid’s star-studded attack. The Spanish club already have Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe among their attacking options, and the addition of the Bayern Munich forward would give them one of the most formidable front lines in European football.
However, a move for Olise this summer is considered unlikely. Bayern Munich have no intention of selling the France international and are expected to do everything possible to retain his services.
As a result, Real Madrid are now exploring alternative options, with Diomande emerging as a potential target. Reports suggest the 19-year-old is being considered as an alternative to Olise, with the Spanish giants reportedly prepared to invest €100m in a deal for the Ivorian.
Diomande enjoyed an impressive first season in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in 36 appearances. His performances have attracted interest from a number of Europe’s leading clubs, while he also impressed for Ivory Coast during the 2026 World Cup.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are all understood to be interested and could be willing to match the €100m figure being discussed. However, Paris Saint-Germain currently appear to be leading the race for the forward.
PSG have reportedly already reached an agreement with the player over personal terms, but they still have to negotiate with RB Leipzig over a transfer fee. Leipzig are said to value Diomande at no less than €120m, while a €100m proposal from Liverpool was reportedly rejected by the German club.
Diomande has previous experience of Spanish football, having played for Leganes before moving to Germany, and he made his debut against Real Madrid on March 29, 2025.
The forward is currently on holiday following the World Cup, but his future remains the subject of considerable interest. Real Madrid are continuing to monitor the situation, alongside a number of other European clubs, as PSG work to secure his signing.
